2012 Best of Fest trophy presentation

On Wellington Anniversary day (21 Jan) the official presentaion of the engraved trophy for 'Best of Fest' zine at Wellington Zinefest 2012 was held.

The winner for 2012 was Always Never Fun #6 by Sam Thurston and Cameron 'Big Bird' Ross. The trophy was presented to Sam by 2011 winner Zora Patrick.

The quality of entries this year made choosing a top three too diffcult. Instead we ended up with five runners up. In no particular order they are-

Best of the Fest Winner 2011 - Zora Patrick

Best of the Fest finalists 2011

Winner was Zora Patrick's Book of Poetry and Short Stories, many of which were written from cat perspective. Zora is just 10 years of age, so is by far our youngest winner to date.

1st Runner Up went to Tessa (Ak Zinefest Organiser) & Damian's zine of collages - HWAH, captioned by what appeared to be archived primary school text book writing.

2nd Runner Up went to Alex Papanastasiou's feminists, feminants, & femimaybees...; chatty examinations of the currency of feminism from an array of female and male perspectives.

Zinefest after party at The Watusi

We are delighted to announce that this year's Zinefest after party will be at the The Watusi
6 Edward Street, Central Wellington.

The after party will kick off with the annoucement of the 'Best of the Fest' winner. Stay tuned for details of the band line up and a map for out of towners.
